Phung Matthews is a consultant for Point-of-Care Partners focused on advancing healthcare interoperability through the use of HL7 and FHIR® applications. Phung received her PharmD from the University of Utah in 2008. She has practiced pharmacy in both community and hospital settings as well as at a consultant and compounding pharmacy. She has gained extensive knowledge on pharmacy workflow and operations by efficiently building customer service metrics, a quality assurance and control program, training for the compounding lab, and incorporating best practices for state and federal regulations as well as with USP (United State Pharmacopeia) Chapters <795,797,800>. Phung is continuing to follow her passion to prevent medication errors as she is currently enrolled in a BioMedical Informatics Master program. Phung is a strong advocate for her pharmacy profession by volunteering on several leadership committees. She is also a preceptor for pharmacy students, which led her to receive the Young Alumni Award from the University of Utah College of Pharmacy in 2018.
