Tara Gensemer

Tara Gensemer serves as a consultant with Point-of-Care Partners (POCP). She is a seasoned healthcare IT professional with over two decades of experience in health information technology, data analytics, and operational management. In her role at POCP, she’ll leverage her extensive expertise to assist organizations in optimizing their healthcare IT solutions & strategies. 

Throughout her career, Tara has demonstrated expertise in health equity initiatives, data governance, and workflow optimization. She has a proven track record in managing data analytics platforms, conducting data quality audits, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven projects that align with organizational goals. 

Prior to joining POCP, Tara served as an HIE Operations Manager, Data Analytics and Integration Product Owner, where she led the development of healthcare IT solutions ensuring seamless interoperability and compliance with industry standards. 

Tara’s career is marked by her dedication to improving patient care and operational efficiency through innovative healthcare IT and administrative solutions that include roles such as Senior Business Analyst, Director of Operations and Billing, Patient Experience Service Coordinator and as a practice management and health IT specialist representing the Pennsylvania Medical Society. In these roles, she has consistently showcased her skills in managing complex projects, leading cross-functional teams, and fostering data-driven decision-making. 

Tara holds certifications in HL7 FHIR, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems, reflecting her dedication to continuous learning and professional development. Her community involvement includes membership in the Philanthropic Education Organization and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. 

Tara earned a Master of Science in the Science of Health Care Delivery from Arizona State University, where her capstone project focused on the use and effects of health information technology in assessing social determinants of health. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from The Pennsylvania State University 

Outside of the office, Tara finds balance through travel, long-distance runs, yoga and coaching the local high jumpers. She resides with her family in Elizabethtown, PA.
