Insurers, including United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Kaiser Permanente, committed to a range of prior authorization reforms. These include reducing the number of services requiring prior auth, implementing a standard electronic PA form by the end of 2026, making prior authorizations valid for 90 days even if a patient switches plans, and expanding the use of real-time electronic PA processes.
