Ross Martin, MD, MHA, FAMIA

Ross Martin, MD, MHA, FAMIA is a Senior Consultant at Point-of-Care Partners. With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare informatics, strategy, and policy, Dr. Martin brings a rare ability to bridge clinical care and health IT innovation. His background in both medicine and technology enables him to approach healthcare IT solutions with a deep understanding of provider workflows, patient needs, and the strategic challenges facing POCP’s clients.

Before joining POCP, he was Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) at Agilian, LLC, President of 360 Degree Insights LLC, Program Director at CRISP, Maryland’s state-designated health information exchange serving MD, DC, and WV, VP of Policy and Development at the American Medical Informatics Association, Specialist Leader at Deloitte Consulting, Director of Health Information Convergence at BearingPoint, and Director of Healthcare Informatics at Pfizer.

He has worked as an obstetric house physician, a professional writer, and as the performer of an original solo musical. He claims to be the worlds’ leading medical informatimusicologist.

Dr. Martin lives deep in a valley on 40 wooded acres in historic Berkeley Springs, WV with his psychotherapist wife, Dr. Alison Howard, and his only slightly psychotic shih-tzu, Cooper. He plays his original music in coffeehouses and on street corners just often enough to remind himself why it’s good to have a day job. He aspires to be a competent woodworker before parting this earth, which mostly means he’s amassing an impressive collection of tools.
