Shane Bell

EHR Practice Lead

Shane Bell

Shane Bell is the EHR (Electronic Health Record) Practice Lead for Point of Care Partners, focusing on the Life Sciences and Pharma clinical workflows within an array of EHR software’s (Cerner, Epic, Nextgen etc.). He brings over 20 years of Clinical, EHR and Leadership experience to POCP.

Shane started his venture into healthcare as a Surgical Technologist in 2002, where he eventually pivoted into Urology O.R. Sales in 2004. After working both in General Surgery and later Elective Surgery for several years, Shane branched out to the EHR/EMR vertical space in 2009 as this was the start of the national push from paper charts to electronic medical records.

As an Account Manager for a Tampa-based EHR Consulting Firm, Shane started to gain a deep knowledge of multiple EMR’s (Cerner, Nextgen, Epic, eCW, Athena, Allscripts, eMD etc.) as a “provider advocate” to help transition providers and their medical groups through their full-cycle EMR/EHR implementation. Because of this extensive knowledge and experience, Shane was recruited by Adventist Health (now known as AdventHealth, headquartered in Orlando, FL) in 2012 to be the Corporate Sr. Regional Analyst for their Nextgen EMR (Electronic Medical Record) implementations across 7 recently acquired hospitals they had purchased within the Tampa Bay area.

Since 2014, Shane has been working nationally as a Senior Consultant for multiple hospital networks to help lead and project manage their full-cycle EHR implementations and optimization projects. Before being recruited by POCP to join their team in 2023, Shane was the Director of Implementation Services for a national Behavior Health EHR company.

A product of Eckerd College in St Petersburg, FL, Shane has lived in” The Sunshine City” since 2002. He loves live music–attending at least one Dave Matthews Band concert every year—football, golf and of course the amazing year-round weather. He is sharing this journey with his wife Kim, their son Carson and two lab rescues Cane and Callie.
